Thumbs up Only for hardcore Bocote lovers ~ 8 different razor sets ~ 1 wedding

I got this request a while back to restore 8 razors and rescale with Bocote. The idea is to offer them to the groomsmen as it will be used at a large wedding.

All 8 razors were completely restored from the coarse removal of steel to the high shine of green rouge. They turned out stellar after getting my full attention.

The bocote got treated with several layers of 100% pure tung oil burnished with 0000 steel wool, tapered maple wedge and SS/nickel silver pins and washers.

Razors include Lakeside Cutlery Co, Brummel Wedge, H G Long & Co - cross daggers, Bismarck, Mandarin, C.V. Heljestrand 4, Dubl Duck Satin wedge and Fox Cutlery Co

8 razors is 2 short of 2 handful but non the less holding and seeing those together is pretty impressive.

    Enjoy.

I wish I was a groomsman for that wedding. I'll volunteer to be a sub. Nice razors.

    Default WoooooooHoooooo

    Damn Brother...

Gotta love all that shiny, sharp steel

I guess that means I'll have a razor coming up to do in Bocote' soon since we are always following each other with the wood choices

Man o' Man! That is one fine collection of Bocote, Max. I got lucky a while back and bought an odds and ends box at http://www.woodcraft.com ended up with a ton of blanks. Even one that seems to have a curly sheen to it. But at any rate, spectacular job. Kudos.

Very nice Max. So you said you only used 2 coats of Tung Oil? Did you burnish with the 4OT wool between coats as well? Breat shiny resto job on the scales.

I never said 2 but several layers. Actually 4 in total, The burnishing was done between each layer after the first had fully dried. And yes the 0000 steel wool.
