Default 7/8 LR Harner Damascus Full Hollow !!! in Abalone Acrylic - Mine all Mine

This is a blade that Butch made special for me, I love the looks of many custom blades BUT I shave with full or extra full hollows... Butch took the time to make this one up and took it way down for me...
I'll let him talk about how he made the blade...

The scales are Abalone acrylic with a Black acrylic wedge the pins and washers are stacked bi-metal and a Silver center pin sleeve...

Pretty easy to build actually, since everything on the razor was perfectly straight from Butch.. I can't wait to get a little time aside to do the edge and try out the shave ...

Da G Bro's own LT Harner razor. You lucky guy. I'd be interested to hear Butch's detailed info about the blade.

As always you finished the works as excellent as can be and you put in your own G signature. I like the fact that it has a mystical overall look to it. I sure hope you keep us in the loop how she shaves.

    Congrats with your new baby!

    that set up really pops

so far as the blade well uumm im not sure what all you guys might want to know

i tapered the tang and ground it on a 2 inch wheel (jsut tried to make it the thinest one to date and might have got close)
i had made a SS razor the really zinged when i honed it but it was lost in a parking lot or something

i didnt mike the blade so i cant tell you how thin how far up the grind. i have to think that im jsut gettign a bit better at grinding the thinner grinds

That is some interesting Abalone. I have made a fist full of scales in that but have not seen any with that kind of patterning on them. Nice looking.

That heel looks like it could bite you if you do not take care when shaving with it. Nice razor.

    Default Honing !!!

Well she is all honed up...
Went with the Naniwas after a bevel set with a Norton 1k using a nagura slurry.. (this was not sharpened per Butch's and my agreement)

Went straight through the progression touching every stone from the 1-3-5-8-10-12 finished with my two new Bench Strops with CrOx and CeOx then 50 linen and 100 leather on a brand new Illinois #827... Can't wait for the morning shave...

As usual Butch's work is dead on, the bevel is near perfectly straight and even... and looks like a mirror
