Thumbs up Joe Chandler - Abalone LVS

I always have a big grin on my face when I get to work on a straight razor from some of the top in their league. Joe Chandler is one of them. The file work, eye for detail and finish are one of Joe's trademarks imo.

This razor is one of the smaller sized one with a cutting edge just over 2.5" but it makes it up with the extra long monkey tail that's just a joy to hold on to when shaving.

I was asked to replace the original wooden scales with the Abalone LVS. I tried not to let the blade sink to deep between the scales to show off the beautiful spine work and part of the filed thumb notch. Nickel silver pins and brass/ss washers. Tapered G10 Jade Ghost to finalize it all.

This one will get a full test shave tonight before it goes back to New Orleans.

    Enjoy

That is as pretty as Gary's new coticule and that is saying a lot. Great work on both artisans parts.

A+ on this one Max, i like how you shaped the scales to show off the jimps on the thumb notch when the blade is in the closed position!!
