Default Bengall Custom Restore / Crimson-Silver Acrylic

A worked spine Bengall about 6/8 spike point hollow grind fully polished and re-done a New acrylic color "Crimson Trace"

Now I have to tell the whole story on this one, Garden Weasel here at SRP sent this one out, and the original plan was to do the re-scale in Thuya Burl... Well just to show that everything does not always work out as planned, no matter how many sets of scales you have done...
The first set of the ridiculously expensive burl snapped like a twig when I checked for flex as I was finishing sanding on the belt sander... So I make another set, this time trying a new brass liner, thin enough that I actually got it to balance out...
So I get to adding coats of finish, and as it is drying I start getting a slight curve...
So I put the scales on a flat board and add another board on top figuring I'll straighten them out gently while I am at work all day, I add a touch of weight, and snap, another set bites the dust... At this time I give up on the idea of the Thuya burl and talk to Nigel ... He decides to let me have some fun, and use a new color... So, in it's third set of scales, the finally finished, Crimson Trace Bengall...

The last pic is the closest to the true colors , and you would be hard pressed to see the blems on the steel in real life, without the macro lens...

Gorgeous work Glen! The scales look great in that color, I'm sure we'll see you use that again. Congrats Nigel, you got yourself a beauty there.
