Thread: TORREY Restoration

I finally dug my old case tumbler out of the basement yesterday and put seven blades in it overnight. The only one that was ready to polish this morning was this Torrey. After 30 minutes on the cloth buffing wheels, I screwed it into a pair of ebony scales with a #2 ss machine screw and matching nut from microfasteners.com Brass washers for the screw and nut and nylon washers on the inside of the scales.

After the tumbler session, the rest of the work took about 1 hour. I got it popping hairs off the 325 and I am soaking the 1k as I post this thread. I fully expect a good shave from this one.

I have another Torrey in the tumbler. It has pitting and may need to be sanded and re-tumbled.
