Thread: W&B For Barber's Use 7/8 - Full Custom

This beauty is heading back home to to Canada..
Alan sent this near mint W&B down for a custom re-build..
The original mirror finish was slightly messed up over the years so I tore it down and polished it back up and brought it back to almost exactly to the same original mirror, minus the minor corrosion...
The scales are Purpleheart that I warmed with a heatgun on to bring out a bit more of the Purple color on and the wedge is Turquoise.. Triple stacked washers on Nickle silver pins to hold her all together...

The finish is 10 coats of actual hand rubbed poly...

All your razors are fantastic but for some reason I reallt really really like the scales with the Turquoise wedge. Nice combination.

Just a tip (that a lot of you may already know)...

The "Wiping Poly" sold by Minwax and others is regular poly cut 50/50 with mineral spirits. At $7-plus for a teensy tiny can of "wipe on" it really pays for me to make my own. The shelf life of poly, once opened, is four years. So, if you use it regularly, it'll pay to make up a batch.

I actually did not know it lasted 4 years I toss any that is left over each year as I was under the assumtion that it was done after two...
I buy a new can and date the bottom with magic marker...
