Just Another Tequila Sunrise...

This one is heading home to our very own Grizzley1 here at SRP, the original plan was for Gold & Red acrylics on the 5/8 Shoulderless Torrey... I let Larry know I had a new color in that was even brighter and sight unseen he gave me the go ahead...

Brand new "Tequila Sunrise" acrylics, the name and the layout were the wife's idea

The blade was polished out to a near mirror except the tang, the pitting from the old scales was just to deep to get it all but I did get it all cleaned up at least...
The scales were sanded out to 12k Micro-Mesh then polished with PlastX..
Lock washers are stacked SS on Nickel Silver pins...

The 3D look of the colors in the scales just never seem to show up in the pics no matter what I try with the camera and lighting...

Good looking scales, the swirls look alive.

Good call on the Tequila Sunrise. First glance thought missing a paper umbrella, but then relieved to realize you must not have any at the house

That blade looks so sleek, looks like must have been a fun project.

I definitely agree about pictures, they don't seem to capture the true depth of the scales. The blade you did for me has incredible scales, the pictures really didn't do it justice.

Great job here Glen, and I love the layout idea!

That looks great. You can tell the little lady that I approve, what a fun layout.
I agree that the photos don't do any justice to acrylic or even most woods.
If that is "Inferno" I can vouch for it I just got some in and wow does that have depth.
