Thread: American Cutlery Plymouth Hollow, in blue G10

I think this blade is beautiful. With its longitudinal stabilizer, thumb notch, and wonderfully sculpted blade, hard to consider a prettier razor.

Goins states:" c 1871 South Meriden, Connecticut".

I think it is just a sexy looking blade. Thought this girl needed something akin to a simple dress, not dressed like a pop star. Tried to make the blue G10 scales trim and simple. Bone wedge. Nickel rods, triple washers of brass-stainless-brass.

Goodness, that's beautiful. 'Couldn't agree more about the blade needing to keep the spotlight, though the scales are just clean & handsome.

Lots of time
Sorry, that's what first comes to mind with polishing g10.
Hand sanded to 2000, then back down to 1300 MicroMesh up to its 12000. Wrapped up on buffers with red and blue.

Since I generally make outboard rounded off, I leave inboard the factory smooth finish. Inboard red then blue polish only.

I didn't get the pleasure of seeing before. Blade shipped to me as is. Only thing to the steel I did was sleeve the pivot.

The owner asked for the blue. I thought that would be too flashy for a fancy old blade like this. I recommended we try bone, to keep sort of with the period and all. I shapped some bone scales for this, but I just didn't feel it. It just didn't seem to show off the blade well. Obviously I'm biased, but I really like the color match too

Love the unique blade, and the perfect set of scales to match. Congrats to the owner of this beauty!
