    Default Worked Boker in Cocobolo

Here are some pics of my latest try at making scales. The blade I got off eBay and came to me with a horrible set of scales on it. I pulled them off as soon as I got it and started to figure out what I needed to give this restoration thing a try. I used tung oil on the scales and even managed to flatten some washers to insert between the tang and the wood.

I am very happy with how it turned out but I would like to hear any opinions on my work, good or bad. Also I finally got use some off camera flash to take these pictures. The pictures worked out really well I think.

    Have a great day all.

P.S. It has been noted that the wood is bocote not cocobolo. Oops!

Beautiful. I think I might have to try my hand at making wood scales. I just love the way they turn out.

Very nice razor, the scales are a good fit!

BTW, the wood is bocote, not cocobolo. Or if it is cocobolo, than it is the weirdest I have ever seen

Thank you for the clarification on the wood. I got it mixed up.

I'm going to have to try bocote for myself. Those turned out very nice! What is the wedge made of?

    Great job!!
Did you do the work on that spine, or did the blade come that way?

Thanks for all the kind words. The wedge is made from another type of wood whose name I cannot remember. The spine came that way. I paid more than I would have normally to get it. I had never seen a Boker with a worked spine before so I snagged it.
