It has been a while since I posted a restoration although I certainly stay busy working on them. So I thought I would show these two off. One is a Wade and Butcher 6/8 French point. The owner wanted a restoration on this one. It was stained and pitted so I gave it a run over the greesless compounds to clean it up a bit. Being hollow ground you can only do so much with metal removal. Then it got a progression on the buffing compounds to polish it up. The second is a celebrated that he simply wanted rescaled.
The French point got a traditional shaped set of scales while the Celebrated got a more traditional square toe with a pointed heel. The buffalo horn has some nice silver in it. Both razors are pinned with 1/16 brass rod with brass over stainless washers. The blades have brass thrust bearings and are both wedges are desert ironwood burl. Still have to hone them but they should be very nice shaving razors.
