Thread: Custom 9/8 Purple Heart Round Point

Here is a 9/8 custom I just finished up this evening using some Purple Heart for scales. Blade is O1. Tang overlay on this one with white tail deer horn. It certainly presented me with a few challenges fitting the overlays. When I finally had it where I wanted it, my original pivot pin felt awkward in the scales. So, I improvised and moved things up a bit. Pined the hole and placed a faux gemstone on each side. I thought about not saying anything about moving the pivot forward as though I "planned" on the gemstones, but I know you guys are smarter than that.

At any rate I think I made it work. Two days growth and it shaved like a Champ. Little different than my norm, and as always, opinions welcome. Unless, you just hate it, you can keep that to yourself heehee...

I appreciate the craftsmanship in this. You have a nice finish without rounding all your corners with too much polishing. The edges and corners that should be square and crisp are. Nice design too.

I like how thin the scales are, some people make these bigger razors a little too clunky for my liking.

Ahhhh, that round point is right up my alley. Really sweet!
