Default Old French Razor 1820-1830 - Dijon

    Hello !

A simple restoration of an old French straight razor, Currat Dijon, 5/8, for me he looks like an old sheffield. I cleaned up and polished softly the blade to keep the marks of grindstone. The scales have been hydrated during 60 hours and polished.

I love that you kept the grind marks. Adds to the character of the blade. Great job.

    Beautiful razor, it looks fantastic.
You say the scales where hydrated? How was that achieved, and what were they hydrated with?
    Thanks for sharing.

Hello str8fencer. I have hydrated with feet beef oil, all animals oils hydrat very good. You can also use vegetable oils but the resutat won't be the same.

Very nice restoration. The collars are modern or original ?
