Default Couple of Ever Ready Brushes

I restored both of these with 20mm Silvertip knots from TGN. One of them is going to a friend of mine for a wedding present and I'm keeping whichever he doesn't choose.

The wood handle is a Set in Rubber with a loft of ~51mm (Since it's somewhat narrow I could only widen the opening so far, so I had to push the knot down about the last mm of depth to the shelf. You can notice how the set in rubber is more narrow compared to the identical knot in the 150 because of the "snug" fit)
The white and black is a 150 with a loft of ~50mm (I was able to widen the opening so that the brush dropped easily onto the shelf I made so hopefully it's not too floppy even at the moderate loft)

baldy, Maxi, 32t and 1 others like this.

Nicely done. Both of those brushes look great. Either of those would be welcome in my lathering line up. The gift should be well received.

They look very nice TwistedOak, the loft seems just about right, but a 20mm knot? the only way you will find out if it as enough backbone is when you use it, you did a lovely restore job on both brushes, I like the shape on both handles very much.

Yeah these are ever ready brushes... they aren't usually sized for medium or large knots in the 5 different models I have seen. Plus my face is somewhat small and more angular so a small round fits me just fine.

He chose the white and black ER 150 last night, so I started the break in process with my new wooden handled one this morning. It built the lather just as well as my pure badger on a puck of Tabac.

Both of them look really well done, however, I'm partial to that long wood handle. That's right up my brush alley.
