    Default Case Real Redpoint Rebuild

This one turned into quite the project, Aaron sent a few blades out for restores and honing and this blade in particular intrigued me so I went a slightly different direction then we originally planned At first I was going to tear down a set of Redpoint scales and transfer things around, but I ended up saving those... So now I had a blade with no scales and no plans this is where I ended up going with it...

The blade was polished then re-blued, I chose Black Linen Micarta for the scales and copied the shape from the old Redpoint razor. I decided that I was going to inlay a "Real Redpoint" in these Micarta scales.. I tried two different ways of doing it, and finally ended up using liquid Red acrylic.. The wedge is also Red acrylic and the pins are Nickel Silver with SS washers..

Spot on Glen. I really like the contrast of the polished blade against the blued tang. The red inlay looks great too. Excellent restore

How did you do the liquid acrylic?

Really nice. I like the bluing, it adds a nice touch. I'm also siding with Grant...black and red are a great combo in my books!
