Thread: Custom 11/8 Massive Razor in Horn

Well, it’s good to be slowly getting back into the swing of things. Time seemed to stand still for awhile there. My younger brother and his wife were in a head on collision about noon on Christmas day. The other driver ran a flashing stop sign on a major highway at 70 mph. They are not sure why at this point he missed it, since he was familiar with the area. He was ejected and killed. Both cars rolled and my brothers caught on fire upside down in the ditch, he was still conscious and able to get himself and his wife out before it burned to the ground. A very brave motorist helped get their door open. Both have what we hope to be minor injuries. Their blue tick hound pup was ejected and killed. We as a family feel very blessed and there is much to be thankful for as we move forward in this New Year. However, out hearts continue to go out to this other family in the loss of their son.

Anyway, it was requested that I do something large, heavy, very thick spined and on a somewhat traditional note. This is what I came up with. Not a daily shaver but one you may like to test drive now and again Used o1 steel and hand forged from 1 1/4 x 1/2 to shape. Remainder stock removal. Scales are buffalo horn with pre ban ivory spacer. Front pins stack washer with a torx pivot. Finish is shiny.

First of all, I am thankful to hear your family members made it out of what sounds like a horrible accident relatively intact. Second, I am sorry to hear that a family lost their son. Third, you have outdone yourself with this razor. It's a beauty!

The loss of a human life in an event like this always terrible and I hope that the family of the man lost can find
the strength to heal.

Glad to hear your family are alright mate, as to that razor, I think it would make it as a daily shaver in my rotation, but then I'm a little weird that way .

Very sorry to hear about the accident, and yet glad to know that your family surived intact and largley uninjured.

Once again, the pictures of your razors require me to sit down. Standing with wobbly knees and legs doesn't work well.
