Default Picture heavy! Restored W&B's, J. Barber, J. rodgers, DDuck, WM Jackson

    Hi All,

Thought I'd put up some pics of some projects I've recently completed. All have CA finish. From top: A dubl duck satin wedge with blue marican masure birch burl scales, lined in gaboon ebony (not visible) and an ivory wedge (not visible, sorry!).

The picture does not do this wood justice: it is bright and looks 3D in person, and one of the rarest woods ive ever seen.

Next, a John Barber 7/8 in some kind of horn with an ivory wedge:

This is a massive Joseph Rodgers in horn and an ivory wedge. the shape is deceiving, because this is the second largest razor I own. It is an 8/8, but very heavy and long.

Next, a huge 11/8 WM Jackson in scales made of black ash burl with frost fractures with an ivory wedge.

And finally, a mismatched pair of Wade and Butcher 8/8's (or 7/8's, I didn't measure) wedges in left, maple burl and ivory wedge (left) and highly figured buckeye burl and ivory wedge (on right)

Thanks to you all for letting me show you some of my handywork. I hope you enjoy my razors!

Those are all beautiful. I commend you on your workmanship. I especaially love the DD. Where is/was that scale material native to?

Birch is native to most parts of the northern hemisphere. It is stabilized with dye included (blue is not the wood's natural color - I wish it was!) The highly figured pieces you see are obtained by sifting through thousands of pieces of burled wood to find exemplary examples to work with. (I did not say that I do the sifting, however

I'm sorry, but I'd be shooting myself in the foot if I told you that right now, as it will drive the prices of the wood up. If you search hard and smart, I'm sure you will discover it One day soon, when I've bought all the wood I need, I'll divulge the source. Not yet, though!

    Hello...
I bought a piece of Redwood Burl from you that Marko made into a handle for a 270mm Shigefusa. It's finished, but I don't have it yet, and don't have any good pictures of it. If anybody has some, maybe he can add them. If not, I will be sure to once I receive it.

    Cheers!!
    Andrea

I don't think you bought the redwood burl from me, as I do not sell or distribute wood. I'm simply a connoisseur of fine wood
