    Default 7/8 W&B, For Barber's Use

    So,

I was over at Dllandry's last week making some strops with him. One thing leads to another and we head downstairs to look at some razors and hones. He had this one down there, but it had a problem. There was a crack about a third of the way from the toe, and it was about 3/16" long. It was long enough that you could bend the pieces of the blade away from each other.

I took it to the grinder and re-profiled the edge to match the spine. Set the bevel and evened out the spine, and then greaseless. I think he'd put it in his tumbler before, so the small pits were clean.

I ran the blade through all the polishing compounds, and this is as close to mirror as I've ever gotten. My thanks goes out to Max for putting up with my "How do I...." emails.

New horn scales, up to 12k micromesh, stainless and Niag washers/pins. Bone wedge.

Was playing around with some black background photography too....I found it much more difficult than a white background.

    Thanks for looking.

I dare say that looks fantastic, some great scotch and a few cigars...the razor is not bad looking either. Great work!

    That's what I'm talking about (cigars/scotch) included

Good to see you were persistent in achieving that final mirror. Two thumbs up. Have a great Sunday.

Nice Job! Those, shortened and smiled a bit, are really nice shavers! I like it!

It is always a good feeling to take one outta the scrap heap and end up with something that looks like that !!!
