Default The Bastard II (Fixed Blade File Razor)

This is the Brother of this razor My First Full Custom: The Bastard (File Razor), they came from the same Nicholson bastard file.
They were ground, and heat treated together and finally after nearly one year in the works, this one's finished.
I'm quite pleased with how it turned out, left a lot of file teeth for grip on the handle. Gave the rest a high polish and it has a 7/8 very wedgey grind.
Hand sanded from 180 to 3000 grit then polished.
I haven't honed it yet, but it feels really nice in the hand.

Default The Bastard II (Fixed Blade File Razor)

    That looks awesome!

Is it a full wedge or did you any concave on it?

Maybe it's me but, I love the idea of taking an old razor and transforming it into a function work of art like this.

Let us know how it shaves once you hone her up

Looks fantastic Grant, I'm thinking you need to sort out a nice makers mark for yourself, great work well done.

Grant, I agree with Jamie definitely need a makers mark, like some hoodlum cartoon character to go with the bastard file theme.

Super, nice flowing lines and leaving the teeth on sure didn't hurt any either. Hope it shaves well for you.

Magnificent, Baldy. Wow! I'll bet it handles nicely w/ the at least 3 sides having a grip surface. 'Lines are lovely. 'Just looks wonderfully executed.
