Default Cats are the best!, we have 10 of them. 3 dogs also.

Some of our cats are outdoor some indoor. I'll let some of our outdoor cats in when it gets cold, (like last night 30 degrees.) I had 2 sleeping on my bed with me last night, best thing ever, one is a new cat someone dropped off 3 weeks ago, very friendly, been sleeping in my bed for the last 4 nights. We have the invisible sign outside that says drop your cats and dogs off here. My dads best drop off is a full blooded chi-chi dog someone dropped off about 4 years ago. How anyone can just kick a dog or cat out on the street is not a member of the human race.

Agreed!! But it's still better than what others have to their animals, wich I dont want to even discuss.
It infuriates me to no end, they should be treated the same way they treated the animal.

Here is our cat sleeping on my wife's purse- which has cats on it! My daughter loves cats and wants another, we might get her one for Christmas.

I helped my friend get rid of his cat once. I was the driver. We drove out to the country and let it loose. I felt bad for the poor cat... I wouldn't ever do that to my cat. She would hunt me down and kill me in my sleep.

Here's our big boy Hugo donning his hearing amplification device!
Can get HBO on that bad boy. hehe.

He's a 13 lb cross from a male siamese and a female himalayan. Great silver coat and an outdoor king on the street. Battle scarred but still a big baby inside.

Cats are the soul of my house. My avatar, Lil Mama, not only showed up on my doorstep 14 years ago, she came with a surprise litter of six kittens, two from three different fathers. Sadly I had to return her to the Universe two years ago (big tumor). Kept a boy and girl from the litter. Prince, a mixed black and white and 25 lbs of love, became a constipated cat. Kept him going for two years before easing him back to the Universe, same year as his Mama. They both reside in their little boxes on my table. I claim I have breakfast with them everyday. The girl, Minnie Mouth (spelling correct) is half Siamese, came out with the Siamese coloring/markings and the voice and is indeed a vocal reminder that cats rule the roost. I credit Lil Mama with saving my life. When I went through chemo a number of years ago and felt low and despondent at times she would leave her warm spot in the house and climb into my lap and stay there till she sensed me returning to a positive state.

One of my sons used to live next door. When they moved I inherited three outdoor male cats cause they didn't feel they would transition well. My son pays for their upkeep. So, I am Cat Daddy and Foster Feline Father. There is a fourth outdoor cat from next door that comes over an mooches at feeding time.

I did have a dog for sixteen years but my heart belongs to felines.

I grew up "in the country." Most of our pets were cats and dogs that wandered in after being dumped. We found many others that were dead. House pets tend to make for really bad hunters but they serve as excellent coyote food. I consider dumping a pet in the country to be more cruel than simply smashing in its skull.

Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

As I read this thread, I have one asleep in my lap and one across the back of my chair. My cats are better behaved than most dogs I encounter on customer calls. They come when called, don't yap at all and one sits, lies down, and jumps to a pointed out destination on command. Working on shake and high five.
The easy road is rarely rewarding.

Somethings you just do for your friends.. if he ever decided to get rid of his other cat I'll drive it to your house.
