Default Help me find my next travel Mug

For the past 5 years or so I've been using a fantastic travel mug for hot and cold beverages. I wish I could tell you who made it but I can't ..... It's gone and I need a replacement. I'm looking for something about 16oz or slightly larger that will fit into the typical sized auto cup holders. It should be easy to drink from, keep hot hot and cold cold, no dribbling or leaking, no plastic leaching unknown carcinogens into my hot drinks, good nose clearance while tipping to drink, handle not important, price is not a concern. What do you guys use. I'm counting on someone out there having the perfect travel mug. I know it's out there.

I have used a Thermos mug for about 4 years now, mainly because stainless is easier to clean coffee stains and easier to see them than black plastic. I bought it from Target when I needed a new bathmat. And of course I can't find it on their website anymore.... It is sort similar to this one
Vacuum Insulated 16 oz Matte Black Travel Tumbler | Thermos®
It holds hot temps for a long time, approx. 3-4 hours. My tongue burns easily, so I have to leave the lid off for about 1 hour on my desk to reach drinkable temperatures. The screwable top is excellent against droppage, with little leakage. I speak from extensive experience.

My coworker has two YETI mugs, one is the larger, the other is more of a rocks glass size. He swears up and down that they are the best mug on the face of the earth. One downside is that if you are notorious for dropping your drink, you are screwed with the yeti. Also, there is no closing mechanism for the drink hole.

My gf currently uses this one. The seal is so strong, that when she left her mostly milk/sugar concoction for a week, the pressure built up so much that it exploded dead flesh smelling coffee all over. (And on my coti, which gave me strong considerations to breaking up with her then and there.) She has dropped it and broken the lid, of which there are replacements available.

HOWEVER, all of these mugs have plastic tops. All claim to be BPA free, however for plastics to be plastics, I think the plastic companies just use BPB which is fairly similar and may have similar leaching effects when heated. If you find a mug that is completely stainless, with a top and closure on the drinking hole, I'm going to buy 20 of them.

Fun fact: I used to sling coffee for a living and have spent an inordinate amount of time researching mugs lol

Thermos or Stanley. I have one of each that keep coffee hot for 6 to 7 hours. They are really nice cost about $25 on Amazon or at target or Eddie Bauer. The Stanley brand is guaranteed for life.

Walmart is selling, can't recall the name, but it is the same thing as a Yeti, same properties for less than 10.00. I bought a couple and they keep my coffee hot for over seven hours.

I want to thank all who responded to my cry for help. As always the collective wealth of knowledge from the members of this forum have introduced me to my next travel mug. A special thanks to dinnermint. He included a link to Contigo along with a quick story of his GF's exploding brew. Ordered from Amazon today. Should get here in a couple of days. I'll let everyone know how it works. Thanks again all.

Ozark Trails. There is write up out there that shows it out performing the Yeti!
