I used to have a stock of emergency supplies when I lived farther away, but don't really feel much need for it now that I am closer to family.
You need a 25 mile bag!

If Prairie Island has a meltdown you would be down wind there.

    What would you do then?

Well I live almost a hundred miles past the end of the road. I think I never really need to bug out. I do however carry a ditch bag at work. If ever we have to ditch the boat I have a waterproof bag with a few key survival items isn it. Lighter, fire starter, compass, signal mirror, dry polypro clothes, thermal sleeping bag, an extra knife, cord. The usual stuff.

Yes, but 25 miles is a long way to walk. I have a vehicle bag that I refer to as a GHB (Get Home Bag) with certain items in it to get me through a long walk home or a stay out in the night air.

Easy to get to, and utilising a space that might otherwise go unused. Frees up belt space.

I too live where i would bug out to. Unless of course nucs fly or yellowstone erupts. Then i do have a couple days of freeze dried food a 3 person tent and water filtration straws and my cheap but most excellent mora. Yea i got some nicer knives but i have them put in other places. Don't know where i would bug out to as all my kin would probably be heading here ! Lol

I don't really have any photos of my kit, but I use a TT MALICE pack. Suture/IV start kit, 1L Saline, 2-4L water capacity, hammock/liner/quilt/rainfly, rainsuit, jetboil/fuel, camp axe/saw from SOG, 150m of 550 cord, and god knows what else. I think it's up to about 39lbs now. I need to go through it and restock, if I remember I'll post it up.
