Thread: New gun!

that's a good question Matt, as said before there is a cultural difference between Europe and the US.
Me personally, I wouldn't carry a gun out on the street in my private time to be honest. I think it boils down to your own personal view on society (I don't mean that in a bad way), and ofcourse the environment you live in.
For my job i carry a Glock though, and various other means of defence.
But I admit it's fun to shoot guns

I just wish everybody that carried a gun legally was proficient with it.

Hell, I wish that everyone who legally drives a car were proficient. And there are a lot more bad drivers out there driving than there ever would be bad shooters shooting.

I'm not sure what the whole thread is about, but I'm excited that I have the paperwork in hand to get my guns back from my gunsmiths estate. I just have to sign the forms saying everything pictured and described is mine and then wait for shipping. I only haven't signed yet because I have to give ballpark amounts for value to insure before shipping.

reading a couple of these posts on the last page, I let it lapse, because I was stupid, but had a concealed carry permit. I am a believer that honest people should be allowed to carry a weapon on their person, after proper training and proficiency demonstration of course (a requirement where I live). I am a believer in the logic of more people being armed would cut down on crime. it's common sense. and it is absolutely true that those intent on committing crime do not carry weapons legally, or obtain them that way. the law punishes the honest and sets them up to be dependent on law enforcement for protection. which of coarse is the point. the flaw being that they can't protect all of us all of the time.

vigilantism isn't always bad, there have been times in many countries over our history when it was beneficial and necessary. the problem is societies get ot the point where they protect criminals so much that the punishments are no longer deterrents. small example. block wall behind my house faces a street on the other side. constantly getting spray painted. IF kids get caught they get a slap on the wrist. MAYBE a night in juvie or jail.

you take the same kid you catch doing it, cane them or whip them (like in singapore) in their front yard where their friends and family can watch. not only will they not do it again, it will DETER others from the same behavior.

Looks like only the .40 caliber is offered in the XDm style....I do like the checkered grips of the .40 though......
