    Default Tactical Shotgun?

I just started building one off of a Remington 870 (18" barrel, 6rd tube, 12ga).

I will post a pic or two when I am done!

Anyone else build/own a "Zombie Killer?"

I have two, one 3.5" & one 3", both 870's with Knox stocks, Remington tube extensions, Mesa Tactical side saddles. The wife can shoot 3" buckshot w/ that stock, amazing how much it stops the recoil. I'm not much on any other add ons except for maybe a light. Some folks get too carried away with "gizmo's" that have the "tactical" name attached to it. If you want pics, I can produce...

I've got a circa 1940 Winchester model of 1897 riot gun with an 18" cylinder bbl. The cool thing about that model is there is no 'interrupter' so if you hold the trigger it will fire as fast as you can pump it. The exposed hammer is cool too.

Wonderful old toy there... I have one as well of the 1897 trench gun variety (bayonet lug and heat shield are the big differences). Mine is late 1910's... still bears it's ordinance markings and is complete with a bayonet.

I also have a modern Norinco copy of the riot gun. For being a copy of the original, it's suprisingly nice. The innards were a bit rough, but a bit of time polishing and it's a fine range toy. (Incidentially, the Norinco 1911A1 frame/slide is a very nice forged piece, the rest of the weapon is trash but the slide and frame make very good bases for "semi-custom" builds)

For a modern scattergun, I always suggest the Rem 870 accessorized as you feel necessary. Mine wear pistol grip stocks and have ghost ring sights... If I need more than that I'll reach for something a bit more rifle-y.

.458 Socom, my version of a bit more rifle-y! Look it up... My "go to" other than the scatter-gun. Nothing & I mean nothing beats a shotgun inside of 50 yards though... Just point and click!

I put a knoxx stock on mine and will put a light on it and a sidesaddle as well but that will do for me.

This is a house gun and we don't have big rooms.

I really like the 1897 Jimmy. Dad has one of those and it is fun to shoot.

Those things would look like human fingers flying at you if you could see them!

That's a beefy round that looks like it would have tons of stopping power.

Somehow I got to the wrong thread - it thought it was titled "Tactical Shapton"

    Carry on
