Thread: Scotch Drinkers??

I know that mixing with the really good stuff is blasphemy, but just discovered a good cocktail recipie for any who enjoy one from time to time:

cocktail is called a Gondolier (the bottle of Luxardo maraschino liquer that the recipe came with had it in italian, but I'm assuming that's the translation); it's simply 2 part scotch and one part maraschino liqueur (not the juice from a jar of dyed and artificially flavored cherries, the real stuff from Italy). I used Macallan 12 (my laphroig 10 seemed like it'd probably be too smoky, and everything else is too high-end to imagine mixing with) and stirred it in the glass with a single ice cube.

Not sure how many bars could make it properly since the maraschino is semi-uncommon, but it's definitely tasty when you're looking for an occasional change of pace from enjoying it straight.

haven't tried the highland park yet,and still have some lag 16, all great sprits !!!

I do think I'm going to have to try Highland park.

The Highland Park 18 is the only one I have had and it's damn good.

I agree. Highland Park 18 yo Single Malt is the only Scotch in my liquor cabinet today.

I have several other Singles (and probably always will) but from Highland park I only have the 18. Have you had any of highland parks other offerings??

Nice group. Add the Glenfiddich 21 finished in Rum casks. It goes well with what you have.

I have been nursing my bottle of Balvenie 21 portwood, got a little more than 1/2 left. Am going to pick up Highland and give it a spin.

How much money should I expect to part with for Highland Park 18 ????
