    Default The "Ivy" Super

Well, I'm new here, so perhaps I better introduce myself first :P

My name is Josh, I'm from Australia, and I'm a razorholic LOL!

Well anyway, I recently came to the revelation that, since I switched to a straightie about a year ago, I have become a certified straight razor and vintage barber enthusiast. Drives my fiance up the wall so it's great!

I started with a Wahl disposable razor with an injector system, was good for practice but the disposable blades had protruding corners that made nicks a little too common. So my fiance bought me a vintage straight razor for my birthday, shaves great but the problem is that I know almost nothing about it!

It's roughly 6" long when closed, with a 3" square tip blade. The blade reads 'The "Ivy" Super Magnetic', Ivy Super being the apparent manufacturer of the razor. The scales are made of bakelite and the logo on the shank reads "Ivy" Super and the number 25 on one side and what appears to be a maple leaf abd the word Germany on the other.

Does anybody know anything about the razor or it's manufacturer? Would love to know whenabouts it was made and what fate the makers came to.

    Thanks in advance!

I can't help you with much info, but welcome and make sure you get that baby honed up properly. Oh, pics would help.

First of all welcome. But I may suggest moving this to the razor or beginners forum. Best of luck. Btw welcome to the madness. I started checking here 1-2 times a week, now I'm here 2-3 times a day on a slow day.

Cool, how do I move a thread? Just delete and remake?
