My dad was one of the first. He started out shooting but retired when I was born and just worked a few meets after that.
One of these days, I'd like to get started with IPSC.
Do it, tons of fun. You can get crazy with all the equipment but that's really not necessary. Just a simple 9mm, a holster and some magazine pouches and you're good to go for "Production" division.
I liked shooting Steel Challenge matches, they were a lot more economical. They're also very fun.
What does a IPSC taste like?
Im thinking about running some mixed steel matches at my local range. I dont own any auto pistols but I figure I can run pistol portions slowly with my wheel gun and make up time with the scatter gun!
For anyone interested im running a S&W M36 3" and a Remington 870
