Surfing (not the internet kind, the kind you do on the ocean)
When I got Elliette to move back to the beach with me, She made me promise that I'd go surfing with her once a week. I told her that I didn't know how to and she said "Well, you'll just have to learn, won't you?"
I've been going out with her pretty regularly and I have to say, it is a lot of fun, even when you suck at it (as I most certainly do). I spent a lot of rides just laying on the board and enjoying the hell out of the speed, but now I'm finally able to stand on the board without falling off in the first second. It's physically pretty demanding, so it's a good amount of exercise, and it's something we can do while the kids are in school and business is slow (wow, I just read that and it sounds like I'm talking about something else, lol).
This morning I got a couple of very good rides. It feels really great to be in the ocean again after so many years of not (I used to spearfish and freedive a lot before my son was born). Saw a couple of harbor seals and lots of pelicans. It's fun no matter what the weather's like, but when it's sunny (like it was today) it's just glorious.
Anyone else here surf or play in the ocean much?

Yeah, a friend of ours sent that video to Elliette last night. That was a really big wave. The ones we have here are quite a bit smaller (thank goodness).

I havent surfed in years but when i used to spend my summer in greece with family surfing and snorkeling were pretty much a daily thing. Used to spend hours with my cousin catching fish and octopus among the rocks and would make an amazing dinner.
Still have most of my gear here in canada with me and ive been itching to go for a dive again soon.
