Colt Delta Elite Ideas
I traded a Mini-14 & Marlin 336 for a Colt Delta Elite 1911 in 10mm yesterday and now I have to "make it my own". First thing first is to get some night sights on it. Second will be to get a set of Pachmayer grips on it to match my other 1911. I really like the Heinie straight eight night sights, but am open to suggestions. Trigger is good on it, so after that Iwill be looking for some leather for it. Thinking of a shoulder rig or a forward canted strong side holster...suggestions? This will be a piece meal thing as the Christmas has hit my play money square in the eye & I'm in the process of getting bullets, brass, & dies on order...gotta get some bullets down range as I tweak her until she is just right.
Talk to me you 1911 buffs...

With what you gave up to get her and the plans you have in store for her; well she should be dressed in only the finest leather.
My safe queen dresses in leather from El Paso Saddlery. JMO, check them out.

Well, I trusted my life to Trijicon night sights from the late 80ies and onward. Even when I was carrying the Glock 20 - 10mm
Since about the same time I've only used Kramer holsters and belts.
Now I have Kramer holsters for my 1911s.

Love the big 10, I have a full size and a compact glock in 10mm as well as a Kimber. If you are planing to cary your Delta on a regular basis Crossbreed holsters are hard to beat, both in quality and comfort.

Why a 10mm? Is a 10mm better than a .40 or.45? I was just wondering what the advantage was... I don't know anything about the 10mms..

More Power. The full power 10mm e.g. from Cor-Bon is close to 41 Mag.
That said, I prefer the .45 ACP

I owned a Glock 20 for IPSC shooting in the UK before the Government banned handguns. Primarily for the power factor in scoring and the double stack magazine capacity over the standard 1911 .45. The 10mm has a much higher muzzle velocity than the .45. Some guys used .38 super for IPSC comps but I didn't like them. I always preferred the .45 ACP round and slimmer pistol-grip of the 1911.
