Careful with the Virginias though, especially Virginia reds. They can bite if you you don't take your time with them.

Absolutely. Virginias require technique and if you don't pay attention you will feel like gargling with BBQ sauce.

I like Captain Black White and Sir Walter Raleigh (I was a Benedictine monk for 2 years and it was one of three pipe tobaccos that was kept in stock in the supply room--the othesr were Mixture 79 and Half-and-Half).

I have a Missouri Meerschaum cob at the house and fired it up yeterday with a little Prince Albert. Tobacco actually tastes like Cigarette tobacco. Does not have a mild pipe tobacco taste at all. Kinda of bitter/bitey and very smokey (no pun intended). Plan to light up some Captain Black white package this evening. May just roll up the PA into cigs for my brother. Heck I may just try to blend it up with the Captain Black.

I heard it said, "Sip on the stem like you're kissin' your grandma."

My favorite is Lancaster long cut chew. When that can't be found it's the good ol' Red Man.

Do any of you chewers out there remember Good Luck? They were the first "bandits". We used to get them once in a while for a change-up to our regular chew. How about Mail Pouch? I've since quit (This Saturday will be 1 year) but I remember those chews frmo a long time ago....

the only thing i can say about mail pouch is that i see the advertising on alot of barns in my area, and if i am not mistaken, those can not be torn down, due to the historical fact of it.
