Thread: good leather conditioner

ok, first let me say that the reason this post is here and not in the strop area, is because i want this product for a pair of laredo boots. now for a little history, i have owned these boots for about 15 years, they have been resoled twice, so you get my point when i say that they are very comfortable to walk in, now they are not your roper style of boot, and many of you cowboys will know what i mean when i say that they are canners. what i would like is some decent leather conditioner other than neatfeet oil or saddle soap to work into the leather to soften it some, and make it a little bit more pliable, the years have dried it out a bit. if im not in my work boots, or those boots to go in and out of my dirty plant, they will probably be what are on my feet, so you get the idea of how much i like those boots

I think Lexol might be good for that but I would also check with a boot repair or even manufacturer to see if they have any specific recommendations.

I have used this conditioner for years on my best leather.
I have no complaints.

I am a HUGE fan of Obenauf's Leather Oil for my boots.

I use liquid mink oil on my boots as I sit around fires a lot and they dry out in the winter months. Works a treat but it will darken them a bit...

+1 on mink oil. Make sure that it is 100% mink oil.
