Nice M1. I've always wanted to get one.
I've had a flint lock too. Got sick of the miss fires, though, and traded it for a Ruger Blackhawk.

Thanks.
That M-1 is 100% 1942 it's 10 years older than I am to the month. One of these days I'll share its story. It has a neat one.
Flinters can be a royal pain. That one has a Siler lock and as long as the flint is sharp, it'll bust off every time. If you learn to shoot off hand with a flinter, cartridge guns are a piece of cake. A flintlock will damn sure teach you to follow through.
I've had several Blackhawks over the years. Had an old flat top Super Blackhawk. Wish I'd have kept that cannon. They're great pistols. Only wheel gun I've got now is an older Uberti in 45LC with a 4 5/8ths barrel.
That HiPowr with all the bluing gone has been many a mile with me and gotten my tits out of the wringer on several occasions.
I sold that old knuckle head a while back. It was fun but I spent more time wrenching on the damn thing than I did riding it. The pan project is still a project and will probably stay that way until my stepson graduates from high school this year.
