Sending an older razor to be honed.
Hello everyone
I recently came across a blade. Other then rust (which I can fix) the blade has a chip on the edge. I will be providing picture of this blade. My question is however, taking the chip into consideration is it worth having it sent out.
Thank you

I wouldn't. Is it a very rare blade?

Comfortably Numb
The blade is frowning, poor thing. Man, this one is a bit rough...I'd pick up a cheap one in the classifieds and go with that.

Grumpy old sod
Keep looking for a blade without a chip.
There are plenty out there without rust as well for a low price.

Yeah, the chip is the least of my concerns about that razor. The extensive hone wear and frown are more worrying. The chip would be long gone by the time the frown is breadknifed out.
I would personally forget about that razor as far as a restore/honing goes, unless of course it has special meaning to you.

what Dad calls me
The chip (as huge as it is) is nothing compared to the narrow blade with the large frown and excessive hone wear. If the scales(handles) are any good you may want to save them.....maybe.
