    Default Walrus oosik

Is anyone using oosic for scales? I am thinking of getting a couple of razors rescaled in oosic.

Sorry, thought you were talking about me there for a minute. My mistake. Carry on.

For the price though, can you not obtain ivory in pre ban or fossilised mammoth? The latter comes in shades of blue and black which look awesome.

Having said that, the example you have provided looks spectacular. You'd never know it was once a walrus's pelvic bone.

Being a fan of natural materials, I'd have to say that it would be real nice. Especially after seeing the pics Dave posted of Bill Ellis's work. It's just hard to find someone to work with certain materials. I'm thankful that they didn't actually, because I found out how wonderful working with pre-ban ivory is. It sounds like you may have found a source of material...care to share?

You know, I've made jokes about oosik in the past, but after seeing what it looks like now that someone has actually worked with it, I must say, it looks pretty freakin' sweet.
