    Default Blade metal

    So, have seen a lot of discussion on various metals for blades. a couple that i am curious about are HY-80 and HY-100. Would have to be cold forged and hand ground as any temps over 150 do bad things to it. Any thoughts on these metals out there?

    ras4jeep,

    As they are low carbon (HY-80 0.12 - 0.18 % C, HY-100 0.12 - 0.20% C), low alloy steels, they probably would not be the first choice to make a razor from.
