The force is strong in your shop, Butch so you'll be fine. What you are saying is that parkerizing doesn't work? I assume you are using a phosphoric acid solution? What's going wrong? Just be careful, that stuff is nasty.

I thought one was pretty bad but 4 would sting a little..

Well Butch, you are correct in your title. I had a similar situation in my shop last week right before I debated destroying my lathe. I switched to a metal lathe found that my bloodpressure was too high and had to leave the shop and just watched TV with my dog on my lap for a while.
It sucks losing 4 blades, but in the spirit of Thomas Edison you just learned three ways not to make a parkerized blade and the other one we'll chock it up to grinder gnomes. Evil little buggers. Good luck in your continued artistry.

yep these things happen and i hate grinder gnomes

to keep balance on the order i made soem of the 1/4 hollows into full hollows and that went well i ll so be workingon all the handles (then the fun of honing 7 razors )

the parking was magnesium phosphate (i think ) it was said too be the black mix but it sure didnt get as nice and black as my savage barrel (also could be in part to the alloy of the steel used )

Ouch! I've ruined them one at a time (fortunately different days)...but four. I think it would have been time to have a crown & pepsi, sit, and pout.
