    Default My first custom

Well, it's not quite ready for prime time - needs more polishing, and I learned a lot about how not to hone a hand made blade, but - I'm dam proud of it for a first attempt! Thanks, Mike Blue, for all your help with heat treating. O1 steel, Olivewood scales with Tung Oil, and brass pins and washers. And, I just found out you can't edit the title of a post - I really do know how to spell "custom"!

I like it. I could only wish that my first looks half as good.

    Nice job!

I could see myself shave with that one.

Great job. Even with the file work it has a "smooth" look to it. Keep up the good work

Thanks to the moderator, or whoever fixed the spelling of "custom". I goofed and spelled it "custon" in my original post, and was unable to change it. Thanks for all the kind words, guys. I'm going to finish honing it and try a shave later this week.

Nice lines and I like the overall look of the razor. Mike is great! What a friend and teacher!

Skip was the one holding the razors. I just lit the fire. If anything went wrong, the last thing he'd see was the throat of the Balrog.

But nothing did. I forgot to test that razor with a hammer before he got out of the shop though.
