AS Randy said unless you are putting ebay specials in or are offering shaves to other people why bother?

I don't know. Though apparently Barbicide Plus has an anti-rust agent in it (that's what the product information on their web site says) so, leaving the razor in there for 10 minutes after the shave, provided, of course, the scales are chemical safe, might protect the razor.

Still seems like too much trouble for rust protection. I use tuff glide. I think thats' what it's called.

I got the 8" and I think it works very well. I couldn't see the need for the 11" model for that exact reason. I just dip the razor in there, I don't store anything in it.

Yeah, I agree actually. I do use it for other things as well though. When I cut the kids figer and toe nails for example, I think disinfecting the tools is a must. You ever smell that stuff that comes from underneath the kids finger nails. It'll put hair on your chest!

That stuff smells pretty bad though. I have a can and tried it, but it smells like I should be spraying it out in the garage instead of the bathroom.

First of all, youre supposed to fill the jar with 50% barbicide and 50% water (this way youre not wasting 20$ worth of barbicide whenever you change it). And secondly, you're SUPPOSED to change the barbicide everyday but its mainly for legal purposes so the company would not get sued. If you're just cutting hair for fun, change it every week or two (assuming you don't have that many customers).
