At what age did you get a full beard?
I'm 18, and I was wondering when most members really got a decent beard. I only need to shave every 3-4 days, and it comes in pretty patchy e.i. not much on the cheeks or neck.
So when did you get a full beard going and when can I expect to really put that razor to the test?
Sorry if this was already a thread, I searched but I couldn't find one.

17, but it was patchy, and still is. I think my family has some indian blood somewhere in our past. I can grow a full blown handlebar mustache in about 6 months, but cheeks? forget it. What does grow on my cheeks grows almost to my eyeballs. My SOTD is more SOTW.

The first scruff appeared at 13/14, i had my first(in hindsight ugly) goattee at 17/18 and a full beard at 21. I'm 23 now(and had a 10 inch long chinbeard until 3 weeks ago, Damn shaving hobby) and still feel like it's getting more coarse. Looking at my dad, it will get very coarse within the next 20-odd years.
But like you said, it's a genetics thing. And there is a chance that the beard comes through at thirty.

I had a beard in high school, so I guess I was 16 or 17 at the time. Back then I didn't shave, cause I got terrible irritation from cartridge razors, so I wore a beard or had the stubbly look from using clippers without the guard on. It's so nice to be able to be clean shaven now.

I was about like Dylan. I could grow a fingertip length beard starting at my earlobes and going to adams apple in a month since I was 16 and it's only getting thicker and growing faster.

I've got some distant native american in my blood, but some northwestern european as well. As it turned out, I've got a 32 year old brother who still can't grow a decent beard, but I had enough beard to require shaving daily by 14, and a fairly full beard by 16. By the time I was 19, I looked like a young grizzly adams if I let it grow.
On the down side, my older brother with no beard also has a full head of hair - something I haven't had since I was a teenager. At 30 I have significantly less hair than my 56 year old father, and even less than either of my grandfathers had when they died.

Well...let's just say that at 13 I had a good moustache and by 16 I was the designated beer buyer for the summer as I used to look like a biker with full beard, stache and yes even long hair.My nickname was animal, like from the Muppets. But not no mo ha ha !

I am 35 and still can not grow a proper beard looking beard unless I do not shave for 3 months due to the inconsistency of growth around my face. A lot of it has to do with a severe acne break out when I was a teen and my penchant for picking at them so it scarred those areas and made the growth pattern different/non-existent in and around those areas. Also the hair on my face just grows slower and is so light that most people can't tell I haven't shaved for a couple of days.

Had a moustache in high school, and was able to grow chin whiskers in college. I finally grew a full beard when I was about 24. Still pretty thin on the sides to this day (56).
