Thread: Not quite the shave I'm used to, but...

...was still an enjoyable experience.

The wife and I were travelling in a rather remote area of China, Chuzhou about 40 miles north west of Nanjing. It's an area far from the prosperous cities like Beijing and Shanghai - but they make the best with what they have. I'd been getting by superbly with my DE and Tabac stick, but wanted to know what the locals did. Tracked down a lady who, in a room the size of a closet, was the best shaver in town.

Although I'm fond of hygiene and cleanliness, when in Rome...



She had an old boar brush, and lump of some sort of soap. Had a hot towel massage, and one slow and careful pass with a new shavette. BBS, ice and smooth. No cuts and no weepers. Not sure what the aftershave was, but made my face tight and clean for the rest of the day.

All in all an interesting experience - looking back at the pics my wife took, I'm shocked at the set up.
