Default Should I let my wife use my straight?

My wife came to me this morning and said she needed to use one of my straight razors to scrape the glass stove top. I told her no and after a little discussion found out her mother said that's what she needed to scrape it. I'm pretty sure she was talking about a single edge blade.

Unless you have a Zeepk in your collection the answer is always no. On the other hand, if she wants to try itfor shaving her legs then you should be more than willing to help her out.

Chemcorp, buy your wife a bouquet of flowers from the florist and a scraping tool from the hardware store. The gift card should read: "Straight razor is for shaving — beard or legs."

I often felt like giving a straight to my ex-MIL, but I was thinking the business end first...

I can't believe you would even consider this. I don't mean to be harsh, but it just has to be said. Like Obie said, buy her a present, flowers, a card, whatever - DO NOT let her use your razors for anything other than shaving hair.

I can’t believe you needed to ask for advice on that one.
You straight was made to cut hair.

Listen to what my friend Obie said above.

Good God no! You can buy cheap single edge razor blades at Home Depot, Lowes, etc.

Just to clear everybody's mind, I would NEVER let her use one for that. I just thought it was funny that she would even ask even though she knew that her mom was talking about a single edge. I'm pretty sure she did it just to see how I would react. I politely declined to let her destroy even one of my project blades and suggested that her mom was not talking about my straights. As far as letting her use one on her legs, I can't even get her to switch to a DE.

Yeah, she just doesn't know the difference between a razor blade and a straight blade shaving razor. Not a big deal. I went to Home depot and asked where the buffing wheels were...The girl sent me to the aisle with caster wheels...A wheel, is a wheel, is a wheel, right? lol

Oh nvm, she was just messing with you.
