Different kind of first cut
I managed to get a good deep cut for the first time tonight, but not your normal one!
I had just successfully shaved without a single nick and had started cleaning up. Then it happened, I bumped my open cutthroat off the bench top. With instinct overpowering intelligence my left hand shot out and grabbed it - including the blade. Luckily only one finger properly cut, and I had a good laugh once I got the bleeding to stop.
Anyone else manage to do something this ridiculous, or is Darwin waiting to get me? :P Atleast the razor is unharmed...

I'm on The Straight Road
It's a very hard instinct to overcome. I've done it a couple of times, but luckily with the razor closed. I hope I never drop a kamisori...

I did the same thing with a knife once. I dropped it and to keep it form hitting the ground I instinctively stuck my foot out. My foot ended up with a nice knife shaped hood ornament.
That one hurt, ruined a good pair of shoes too.

Uh no, I would never ever do something so silly. Well, maybe one time, but just a little bit.

I have several fingers that bear the remnants of a "save" gone bad. I cut my hand more than I nick my face. It's the first thing I warned my son about as he learns his way around straight razor shaving.
