Thread: beauty spot, mole, nevus

I went to the dermatologist for a check up, and asked questions about shaving.

Remark : in this post, "beauty spot" = "mole" = "nevus" (Nevus - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

According to this ONE French dermatologist:
- only about 30% of melanoma (skin cancer/tumor, Melanoma - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) starts from a nevus, the other 70% starts from "normal" skin
- cutting yourself is never good (health-wise and generally speaking), but cutting a nevus has no particular or extra bad effects or consequences (relatively to cutting "normal" skin)

So for those who are afraid of health problems due to cutting yourself on moles, the main point is that, from this one educated person's view point, wet shaving does NOT present any extra/additional risk.
