Shorts for MN summers and pajama bottoms for Texas winters. Randy wears what he wants to wear.

I would like to give a big thank you to Jason for hosting this meet ! And a big thanks to all who attended. It was nice to see how others approach razor restoration. Watching Seth Reid take a stave from a whiskey barrel and make a set of scales was fun. I saw some of the really nice work that rolodave does. He has far more patience then i do!☺
Now that we have one of the restoration meets under our belt we have a better idea of what the interests are and the "flow". This meet had 5 attending. I think that 10 would be the max and that would require a larger space.
Geezer sent along a Jacobs chuck to use for mushrooming the top of pins and that works like a charm. Rolodave and me played with the Whitney punch and doming block to make collars and that was good. The belt grinder and lathe sander both proved their worth and my "buffer" did ok.

For me this was a very nice mini-vacation with a good bunch of people. I hope to do it again. ☺

My thanks to Jason for hosting and his 20+ years in the Air Force.

Thanks to Randy for hauling all that iron to Tomah. Thanks to Seth for carrying that motor up an down the stairs.

The next meet will be at my place with a tentative date of October 10, 11.

Limit is 10. Waiting on Jason to clear these dates with the AF. Enrollment will commence forthwith.

Tentative topics to address will be stropping and shaving. We will need volunteers to shave while the rest of us give encouragement and pointers. That should be fun.

Got the camera fixed yesterday. Some kind of hitch with the lens. Pic in SOTD was taken with the repaired lens.

I will start a thread when the date is set.

Re: Jacobs Drill Chuck for a pinning tool. I believe it was Sharpton who's fix was the first one I noticed. There may be many others over the years too!
