Thread: NE Oklahoma get-together / Chouteau

From left to right, str8razor's son, str8razor, myself, and freebird met tonight at the Dutch Pantry in Chouteau, Oklahoma for the first periodic NE Oklahoma meetup. I'll figure out later how to crop the photo.

We shared a short razor presentation which included such famed razors as this, this, and this. After dinner we rummaged- no, I mean checked the leftover giveaway donations from the NC meetup to make sure everything was there and in good order and then handed it off to the next torch-bearer.

What can I say, good food, good friends, and straight razors, it was a good combination. Don't know if Bill or Lee heard the comments when we first arrived and were showing and telling.....but I overheard one lady say to her companion (didn't look, so she could've been talkng to her hubby or to another lady), but she said "Look! A straight razor collection!", I'm sure there were other comments, and I did note a few people glancing our way when we had our eye candy on display.

oh, btw, the gentleman that came to the table and said he'd sold Dad 7 straight razors, was yanking my chain,which I figured, but with him you just never know if he's serious or not. He's a great guy though.

It was nice to finally meet up wth you guys, maybewe can do it again sometme soon. Lee, tell your wife that it was a pleasure meeting her and the kids. Bill, it was also nice to meet your son as well, maybe we can brainwash, er convert him over to straights.

Yesterday evening I and my younger Son drove to Lee's (hoglahoo) home in Broken Arrow and picked up the SRP giveaway prizes and also took Lee and his family to Choteau, Ok. to meet Tony (freebird). We met at the Dutch Pantry to eat and to say the least the food was super. It was a chicken fried steak buffet with ALL of the trimmings.

Meeting Tony was super because I could put a face, other than his avatar, to the name he is a cool dude. I had already met Lee and his family when I was previously in Broken Arrow Lee is a cool dude also.

At the table we showed some of our razors and what was neat was the people around looking at us kind of funny like but they weren't offended. Some thought it was kind of cool.

After eating we went outside and talked for awhile and then departed. So ends the first Northeastern Oklahoma SRP Get Together.

Absolutely! I'd like to meet again soon. We agreed we need to do this again sometime soon and possibly outdoors
