Again to reiterate.

I am going to approach the Union Gospel Mission re a canned food/clothing drive. I am going to approach Hair M to see if they want to get on board. I am going to go to some of the higher end "beauty schools" here and give them a flyer so they can come. It will be in a Mason's lodge/Elks lodge etc..

Anything else?

Lets get some ideas flowing.

I received an email back from the UGM and we are going to start generating ideas to get the word out there. I am sure that they have a Press kit or something that would be handy.

I mentioned the even to my barber at HairM. As soon as I sew up the UGM, I am going to hit them up.

I tried looking up some barber supply places here around PDX but my computer was having "issues" that required ITG at work to get involved. Other than that I'm still pretty new to all of this so I'm not really sure of any ideas that might work. I'll keep working on ideas though.

Some of the guys from B&B are planning it out to be there....

I put the link for this new thread into the one that's on B&B along with a call for suggestions on what people would like to see at an event like this. From what I saw I was only the third person to post on the B&B thread.

One of the guys at B&B put together a listing of shops in the PDX area that carry shave soaps, creams, blams, etc,etc.. Maybe we could contact one or more of the shops that have a larger available selection and see if they would like to set up a display/booth or whatever. There were some of the "perfumery" shops listed that you could put together your own custom scented shave creams. The perfume part might be a good one for the ladies. Just a thought.

HornM has picked up the ball on this and is starting to run with it.

I am in, I have that whole week off so "The Wifey" and I are planning a weekend+ out of it...

I am still planning on honing, some restoration, and maybe some lathering demo's...

I was planning on bringing one custom restore from Gemstar Customs, for a give away too, but we'll see as we get closer to the date what I can do.....

I hope I didn't break any forum rules or use bad etiquette but I went through the google maps here and at B&B and PM'd everybody that was listed in about a 100(+/-) mile radius. Hoping to hear back from some of the other "local" guys who might be able to give a hand with getting some of the deatils worked out. Just have to wait and see for now. I'm going to try to do some research this w.e. as to places to hold this thing. Any suggestions?

i'm way the hell up in bellingham, wa - but if there is some excuse to be down in oregon i'm interested.
