Thread: Toronto Meet - Part Deux

Gentlemen,

There seems to be a bit of interest around getting together again. Personally, I think this is a great idea.

Now, this time, I think we should do it a bit different....please bear with me, and then voice your opinions.

I think there should be more eating and dr___king. That's all.

If people are interested, lets start this up by looking for a possible date/weekend. Some people have already suggested late September, early October. The only thing I would like to caution people about (mostly for our US brethren who may drive north)....I believe that October 10th is the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend.

Dllandry - do you feel comfortable asking to rent the Legion again? I think that worked really well the first time around.

Thanks for getting on this so quickly. I'm sorry I missed the May meetup, but I just got here

I'm with you on the more food idea...there can never be too much of that. Late September works for me and by then I'll have a few shaves under my belt and might actually be able to contribute.

I'd like to publicly thank all the fine members here who have answered questions and helped me along with advice and offers.

Assuming I don't lose too much blood in my first few shaves, you can count me in for the meetup anywhere within 100km of the city.

If you need any help in organizing or anything like that, please feel free to let me know. I'm happy to help.

I'm definitely busy weekends in Sept. I may be able to make a weekend trip in Oct, but I'll have to see what the job is like. Let's be sure to avoid the weekend of the Shaving Collectibles Extravaganza, too.

I'll be there if possible. I'll have to wait on a decided date - I'll be away for most of October...but a meet up would be GREAT!

Well this is my lucky year. A torn ACL in my daughters knee means no hockey this season. So I am pretty much free right though till April now.

Oh man....that sucks (for your daughter) and simultaneously is great (for you). No one likes a torn ACL.

I can check with the Legion, I don't think it will be a problem to reserve the bar again. I am not working the BBQ again though someone else can be in charge of that lol. I will go by Tue and see what weekends in Sept and Oct are open.

You make a mean burger, Dllandry, but I can totally understand your not wanting to work the grill again. Perhaps we could set up a schedule, so no one is stuck outside too much?

That's an excellent idea. We could do half hour intervals....maybe? That way you wouldn't miss too much action.

This time I'm blocking more time off for the meet. 8 hrs was not enough time.

I can ask if they would be willing to open before one just let me know what time we would like to start and end. Remember I just live around the corner from the place so we can come over here afterwards if anyone wanted to. Holli I promise I will not give you full glasses of straight Bourbon again.
