Anyone (just 2 of us for now) in Chicago area (I'm a 'burbanite myself) want to give me some pointers on stropping and then eventually honing? I do bribes, (ahem) I mean donations if you would be willing to point me in the right direction. Thanks.

I could use some help in that area myself. Would love to meet up with someone to go over what I need to be looking for and also if I am doing things wrong.
So, I just realized this thread is ancient. But I'm going to reply to it anyway. I've got a strop and a razor and I'm pretty sure I've only made the two come together successfully once out of the twenty times I've tried. Seems like I'm ruining the edge of my TI every time I try. Either that or I'm just terrible at shaving. The strop nicks might suggest I'm terrible at stropping though. Any help would be awesome.
