I hate moving... alot... And yet I find myself packing up yet again to move farther away from where I want to be, Alaska Anyway As I start the monstrous task of packing up my culinary library I notice that what took 10 boxes 4 years ago now takes more that 20... I didn't think I bought that many books in 4 years... And yet last week my friends mother calles me to let me know she is clearing out her old cookbooks and would I want to go through them! Hell ya!!! DOH! what am I saying... So I just got through searching through 5 cases of cookbooks and grabbed a few I didn't have and would like to read. Yet another case of cookbooks and I haven't even finished yet /cry One day I'll have to catologue my books and put them in order, and get yet another bigger bookcase to put them on... Oh what a wicked web this is going to be...
WOW, I thought I was the only person who collected books that way. It sure gets easy to let the" books get out of hand", as my wife would say. Myself I have over 400 cookbooks. i have a bad habit of going to the library and buying out the used books they have. I'm hoping to be moving to Texas, the Houston area, in the near future. Where are you moving to? Alaska seems to be one of the better,new culinary areas out there. I think your right this could be a very wicked web.....
My wife got accepted to the University in Fresno so we are going there for to many years... After that we go to where the Jobs are... AK is mine and my daughters first choice I'm Hopeless... I just got back from the Japanese bookstore and got "Japanese Kitchen Knives, essential techniques and recipes" If your into single bevel knives it has a ton of great info not normaly found in one book. My wife is just shaking here head....
Whoot I'm back on line again. Moving is a pain and dealing with all the utilities is just about as much fun Took over 2 weeks to get the internet up and running, seems AT&T has a problem with loosing orders and such... I had to re pack half my cookbooks and put them in long term storage... I just lost 25% of my storage area here at the new place and that just bites... I can't even get my shaving stuff into the bathroom... Making a cabinet to fit on the wall just outside the bathroom door... life is hell here /cry... Other than that the move went very well. I also discovered a few out of the way Antique shops around that have LOTS of old kitchen stuff as well as (well not any more ) some straights
