Well I got my work cut out for myself this time. I'm going to fall back to authentic American Cuisine for thanksgiving this year. I haven't decided on a year yet but I'm sure it wouldn't take long to get that part done. Getting the menu set up and finding all the goodies may take some time, so I'm starting early. I'm also excited as I get to study more on authentic amereican foods again. As we are a melting pot I know most recipes are not native, but many of the changes to those same immagrent dishes where made due to available ingredients native to north america. So weeding out the "New stuff" and making due with what was available at the time will be fun. I already have a few books on these subjects but I'm looking for a couple more so I can cross refference them... This year should be interesting indeed
I've heard lots about folks recently talking about cooking "non-traditional" dinners for Thanksgiving. My fams always done the regular... turkey, stuffing, etc. Maybe next year we'll venture "out of the box." Mix it up a bit. Then again, my wife is a traditionalist.
I have a Goose on order for Thanksgiving I'm still preping the menu... getting hungry thinking about it
