Hey guys...glad to be here. I just wanted to say I have been experimenting with the cold water before my passes. As I am still fairly new, Im not sure about the results yet. I guess I have done it last 5 or 6 shaves... I STILL like my hot towels tho during prep and after my clean up passes and before I use cold water. I use the hot towel before I begin with a second application of conditioner still in my beard from the shower. And the towel after...well because I REALLY like my hot towels. Shaving at my place has become quite the ritual. Stereo, hot towels, DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door ( I live with 4 women. A wife and 3 Teenage daughters.) Just wondering kinda off topic...but have any of you joined THE POLAR BEAR club on New Years Day? My first dunk with them was in Ogunquit Maine about 8 years ago...and let me tell ya, the water up there on the Ocean side is pretty dam cold in August. You can imagine New Years Morning. Thanks.
Steaming h-- towels?! Careful... Them fightin' words. Since I started cold water shaving I've forgone all of the other common prep rituals and items used in h-- water shaving. Jimmy posted a link/pdf of the old Robeson shave guide that specifically says not to wash your face before. I think h---ing up the whiskers would defeat the purpose? *Like how I bleeped out the word h--?
